Arrested Development Stand in New York City

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     To promote the return of the "Arrested Development" television show on Netflix May 26, the Arrested Development frozen banana stand has been making stops in New York City and London.

Julia Carpenter, a fan of the show, got a shot of the stand parked in New York's Columbus Circle on Tuesday. As she explains, the Bluth family (around whom the show revolves) 'originally made their money selling frozen bananas from the banana stand. Years later, amidst their decaying wealth, the still-operating banana stand is an oddly comforting reminder to them of their salad days, and many of the characters take turns working a shift at the banana stand when broke (financially or emotionally).'

The show aired for three seasons on Fox from 2003 to 2006. Carpenter will be watching the highly anticipated fourth season. 'I feel like we as a TV-watching public will then finally be pardoned for that unforgivable sin — letting it go off the air originally, when there were still so many laughs to be had.'

As the countdown to the resurrected season of "Arrested Development" streams on Netflix later this month, Manhattanites are on a wild — banana? — chase.

A promotional banana stand is touring the city, checking off wildly popular stops in London and now at New York's own Radio City Music Hall and Columbus Circle. The line of fans wrapped around the block twice, but more than a few considered it a small price for the chance to try an "authentic" Bluth frozen banana.
