Not Your Typical Weekend at the Lake!

As America (the 1970's band, not our beloved homeland) once sang, "This is for all the lonely people...thinking that life has passed them by. Don't give up until you drink from the silver cup and ride that highway in the sky."

After divorcing 16 years ago, raising my daughter on my own and having a few short term relationships, I was ready to settle in to life on my own. At 52, however, I find that I am rediscovering myself through photography and learning how to LIVE again! Lucky me!! I gave love "one more chance" and it's changed my life. I met and almost immediately fell in love with Phil who is an ex-corporate executive turned owner/pilot of his own sightseeing company, Lakes BiPlane, in Gilford, NH. But that's not all! Along with Phil comes a group of family and friends who have welcomed me into their lives and have subsequently changed my life forever. Think "Big Chill"...remember the scene when they're cleaning up after dinner and everyone sings and dances to "Ain't too Proud to Beg" by the Temptations? That is my life on weekends these days and I couldn't be happier!

Last Saturday, 5/18/13, we gathered at Plymouth Airport in Plymouth, NH for a friends/family "fly-in" to celebrate one member of the group's birthday. Elaine was flown in by pilot Phil in his open cockpit Waco Classic Biplane. The rest of the day was spent celebrating by enjoying a picnic, taking turns flying over the idyllic mountains and lakes of the central NH Lakes Region, talking, laughing, PLAYING (did I mention they like hula hoops?) and just being in each other's company.

THIS is what weekends are all about! LUCKY ME!!
