Record Breaking Event for World Peace in the Philippines

Over 12,000 people that came from all over the Philippines and also many countries around the world came to the University of Philippines Visayas to be a part of the 'Light of Peace' event that took place for the first time in the Philippines.

They all came together to meditate and to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the'Most Lanterns Flown Simultaneously'.

Seeing religious leaders and thousands of people meditating together is something impressive. Seeing everyone meditate together shows that meditation is something universal, that anyone of any race, religion, or nationality can do.

I believe that meditation is the core foundation of world peace because meditation leads us to finding our inner peace and inner peace will eventually lead to world peace. Imagine what the world would be like if many people gather together like they did here in the Philippines to meditate, to clear their minds of any greed, hatred, and anger.

After everyone meditated together, there was an event to fly sky lanterns in an attempt to break the Guinness World Records. By flying the sky lanterns, it shows the unity of everyone there. This event was truly a historic event and it is something that many people will never forget.

History was made it in the Philippines not only because over 12,000 people gathered together to meditate but Guinness World Record awarded this event as "The Most Sky Lanterns Flown Simultaneously"
