I have so many different memories of what Superman means to me in general and it is hard to just choose 1 or 2 memories when you have so many to choose from. One of my best memories of Superman would have to be meeting fellow fans of Superman during the Superman Celebration in Metropolis Illinois. Superman has had a huge impact on my life not only as a fan and a collector but in my personal life as well. I have been attending the Superman Celebration since 2003 and this past weekend of June 6th through June 9th 2013 was my 11th straight year in a row attending this awesome event. The celebration and the city of Metropolis Illinois has a great way of bringing people together in such a way that the friends that you make quickly end up becoming more like a family to you before the 4 day long event is finished. I have been a fan of Superman for as long as I can remember. I am also a huge collector of all things Superman. What I like about Superman is that he not only stands for Truth Justice and The American Way but that he also gives hope for those who need it most not just in the comic books but in real life. In real life these days all you hear about is news about war sickness and/or death or other bad news. When you see Superman standing up for those who can not stand up for themselves that gives hope to many people. Superman stands for what is right and if we all lived out lives like Superman does then I think that this world wouldn't have so many wars and other problems that we have to face on a daily basis. Superman to me means that you don't have to have Super powers to be a hero for someone it means that you can be a hero for someone when you give hope rather it is in the form of a hug or a smile or just a pat on the back while giving encouragement.
