This iReport is part of an assignment:
    Severe weather

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Akrobatiks is a Chicago-based commercial photographer who captured a stunning image of lightning striking the antennae of the Willis Tower in June 12. It was about 7pm in the evening when he noticed that the weather had turned. 'I noticed some pretty epic cloud structure starting to show over the city,' he said. 'I quickly headed out to the northerly island to watch the storm unfold.' With camera in hand, he captured several images of the storm passing through the area. He explained the photo that is featured in this iReport was the largest lightning strike in the bunch. You can see more of his photography on his website.

A huge lighting bolt strikes the antennae of the Willis Tower yesterday afternoon in Chicago. I had just left an fine art print presentation for one of my Chicago Skyline images @ Athena Restaurant Chicago Greektown for Choose Chicago when I noticed some decent cloud structure forming overhead. I already had my camera with me so I headed out to Northerly Island to check out the storm rolling in. As you can see, mother nature put on quite the show!!!
