    How do you welcome summer?

    Midsummer in Zinkgruvan, Sweden

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     robbankanto hadn't celebrated a traditional midsummer in many years before going to Zinkgruvan - an old mining village - with his friends.

As a hobby photographer, he took it upon himself to document the festivities. "I used the camera to get out of the other [preparation] duties," Robban jokes. "I usually don't care much for traditions, but if it comes in the form of good food, drinks and great company I can endure it," he says.

This year, the friends will gather in Zinkgruvan again for midsummer, dress code 'white dress'- "for all genders."
    - jcsoffel, CNN iReport producer

Every year a bunch of friends gather to celebrate Midsummer in a place called Zinkgruvan, located in the middle of Sweden. We raise the maypole and have some traditional food, like pickled herring, meatballs and prince-sausage and for drinks there are Beer and snaps (schnapps). It's an excellent excuse to get wasted together and have a fun time. In the afternoon we usually take a swim in the lake nearby and then we play kubb.
