How do you welcome summer?
Portland Lithuanian Community celebrates Midsummer (Joninės).
"Us Lithuanians sing songs and dance until the sun sets, girls make flower wreaths, men make oak wreaths. We search for the magic fern blossom at midnight (not easy, but fun!), jump over bonfires, greet the rising midsummer sun and wash our faces with a refreshing morning dew and young girls float the flower wreaths together with candles on the river," Darius explains.
