    Carstens fire

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Yosemitebear Vasquez, known for his viral 'double rainbow' video, told me he planned to stay and defend his home, against evacuation orders, citing his background in firefighting and fire science studies. 'I know this is a high fire danger, so I've been working on a plan. I got my water tank online, so now I'm ready. I want to protect my home and document it too, it's right on my front yard. I've been smelling smoke for a while. The wind is blowing away from me to the fire, so it's not really coming in my direction, but I'm sitting in my living room couch and looking at this big mushroom cloud. I intend to stay here and protect my fruit trees and my house. I have an evacuation plan - I'll throw my dogs in the car and take off. I'm not gonna risk my life for things, but I think I can handle it and I know my boundaries and know how I'll be safe.' (This is the same mountain from the viral video.)

The fire is in my front yard, the same view as the Double Rainbow video. I am the guy who shot that video.
I knew what was happening as soon as it started. i have been preparing for this for decades.
The people who live on my land all left. I refused evacuation orders. I am shooting in HD vid and stills on a camera with a great zoom.
