    Tina The Turtle Goes Home

Clearwater Marine Aquarium is pleased to announce the release of Tina, one of the Gulf Coast resident Loggerhead turtles .

Clearwater, FL (June 17, 2013) – Please join us as we send Tina on her way back to the open sea. At noon on Tuesday, June 18th, the staff of our turtle department will be packing up a 200 pound, 40 year old female Loggerhead turtle and will be returning her to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Tina joined the rehabilitation facility at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium on April 12th, 2012. Tina was found off Manor Beach in New Port Richey floating, lethargic and emaciated. Tina was a very unique case and over the last year we have seen many ups and downs with her, but over the last few months we have seen her stabilize and in now ready to head home.
