Chinook CH47 helping us put out house fire in Black Forest, CO

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     RobieRobot and his family were throwing buckets of water on his fiancee's parents' house, which was on fire in Black Forest, Colorado, back on June 12. 'As we were doing this, the Chinook helicopters were flying over in a line, dropping water one after the other. When the water would hit everything, it felt like a soaked wool blanked being dropped on us,' he said.

The family had been asked to evacuate the day before, but a friend called to let them know their home was on fire. Unfortunately the wind picked up and the home was lost, he said, but RobieRobot wanted to thank the pilots and crews for helping out.

When the forest fire reached the house, we were throwing buckets of water on it as fast as we could, then a couple of Chinook CH47 helicopters flew over and dumped a couple hundred gallons on the house. Unfortunately, the wind picked up and the house was lost. Just wanted to send a thanks to those pilots and crew for helping out!
