House falls into creek; Alberta flooding

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Barrie Loberg says he lives three houses upstream from the house that was lost in these images shot Friday, June 21. The area is along Threepoint Creek near where it meets Ware Creek in Millarville, Alberta, outside of flooding-besieged Calgary. 'It was tough watching it slowly be taken by the creek and all we could do is stand by and watch. It was awful,' said Loberg, who then evacuated his home. He said he was afraid the house would damage a bridge downstream as it broke away. 'As we stood nearby we could see large chunks of the bank we were standing by fall into the creek. We had to be careful to stay away from the bank.'

On Thursday night our neighbors had to evacuate their house. Their house was about a hundred feet from Threepoint Creek just southwest of Calgary, Alberta. An extraordinary amount of rainfall caused the creek to hit a record level and it started eating away the bank. Over the next day the creek reached their house and swept their house downstream. Everyone is safe.
