    I love my Corvette

    50 yrs 1st vette

I had just turned ten yeas old. The family next door was taking me and my brother along with their two boys’ to Freedom land Fun Park in Queens NY. On the way into the park I saw my 1st corvette. It was the coolest car on the planet and I knew then I would own one some day. Years came and gone, even got close several times, but no corvette.

Last year I was looking at car sales adds on the internet and saw a 2001 Magnetic Red (candy apple cheery metallic) with Black interior corvette coupe with a custom hood and custom wheels. It had all the factory bells and whistles. After a couple weeks of back and forth phone chatting with the dealer I was unable to get the extra financing needed, again. Said he would keep trying to get the financing for me. Couple days go by and no word. Guess the car has been sold.

So one day the salesmen calls and tells me to come and see the car anyway. So I made the 4 hour trip, knowing I would be coming home, again, with out my dream car. I have been close a number of times over the years with no luck for one reason or another.

Got to the dealer and there it was. My heart was pounding, couldn’t breath a drop of air. The salesman comes out and meets me and asked if I want to drive the corvette. No thanks. I just had to see it in person though.

Well he say's, come inside and let’s talk. I have heard that before. It’s the old let you down easy talk. So do you really like it he says, well then, sign here and take it home.
It was this time, spring time 50 years ago I saw my first corvette. Now the most beautiful Corvette on the planet is mine.
Remember. Never give up on your dreams and some day you will have your corvette to.
