    I love my Corvette

    My Corvette experience

I have to thank my son for my love for the Corvettes. He started with a 2000, then a 2006. Now, we have a '68 Stingray, '91 coupe, and a 2010 Grand Sport. My son, Mack, went overseas to work, so I had and still have the privilege of driving these beautiful cars, even though he is back stateside.
I was able to go with my son, to pick up the Grand Sport at the National Corvette Museum, in Bowling Green, Ky. That was another experience, I will never forget.
I joined a local corvette club and showing the Grand Sport, and now the '68 with the Grand Sport in car shows and just cruising, along with my husband, Al. My husband got hooked when, we started dating, and when we got married, my son, gave us the '91 for a wedding present
I have a grandaughter, who is 7 years old, and she loves riding in "Uncle Mack's cars."
These cars take away all the stress in your day, when you drive them. I can drive them to work and when my day is over, get in one of these babies and take off. You just feel the stress going away.
We have had the experience in participating in the National Corvette Museum HPDE school, as volunteers. We feel the power of these cars on the track and had the pleasure of riding with the instructors. I just, recently, got to take the '91, on the track for a parade lap and that was awesome, since the '91 is a six speed.
The club, we are in, Virginia Corvette Club, does a car show at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. Where else can you do a show, with such a beautiful view of the lake, in the fall, and have over 100 Corvettes in one spot! Every generation is represented and we have other Corvette clubs bring their pride and joys, to show off.
I just can't explain the feeling of driving one of these cars, as they are very unique in their way. I have had the privilege of driving other unique cars, but the Corvette still stands on its own.
I would never dream of driving a Corvette, but thanks to my son, Mack, I am, and having the most incredible experience in my life.
