On September 2, 2014, I was diagnosed with disseminated histoplasmosis, a fungal infection. This was discovered following a biopsy of my larynyx. The infection is fatal if left untreated. For 2 1/2 years I have lived under a death sentence being misdiagnosed with a non-specific bacterial infection which left my right lung a "dried up sponge" and non-functioning.
I am now being aggressively treated for the infection with antifungals. The treatment will take at least a year until September, 2015 and may take up to two years.
I suffer from chronic Horton's Syndrome, battle major depression, afflicted with POHS (presumed ocular histoplasmosis syndrome) plus many other afflictions. I have now have only 1 functioning lung, my left.
Often I hide in Mark's Den and dare not go past my doorway. I have huddled in a corner sobbing afraid of anything that moves. Not because I wanted to, but because my conditions leave me in a state of panic from which it is difficult to recover.
I bring a wide variety of iReports covering a range of subjects, most often political in nature.
This is therapeutic for me. It allows someone such as I, with few options to interact, to feel I am a viable human and able to contribute to society.
I have two wonderful sons, Dave and Kev, of whom I am very proud, with two daughters-in-law, Anna and Hailey. My first granddaughter is Dylan. Her sister, my second granddaughter, is Alaina. A third granddaughter is due December 3. Now if Kev and Hailey will bring me a grandson...LOL.
My significant other is Iohn (pronounced Jon)aka tatboi43 on iReports. less »

It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship." - Alexander Tyler 1787 - less »
I am just a mom concerned for my kids future.... more »I am just a mom concerned for my kids future. Each day, I look at history and now. I have learned we can learn from history...the good and the bad, but how can we learn from history if our generation and future generations don't know or understand true history. History can provide us with most of our answers and solutions. Like our economy, our currency, our government.... really look and read about what has taken place to bring us to today and help us with the future. EDUCATION IS THE KEY less »

Been here, been there, done this, done that, and hope to be in a lot more places, and do a lot more things in the remainder of my life.
