Obamacare: Your story

The Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare will affect nearly everyone in the United States in some way, but arguably one of the largest groups to feel its impact is the 48 million Americans without health insurance. Those without insurance must enroll in one of the insurance marketplaces by December 15 in order to have their coverage start on January 1. Most Americans face tax penalties if they do not have health insurance by then.

The online sign-up process began October 1 and immediately ran into technical problems. Meanwhile, some employers have changed or dropped providers due to the reforms, making their workers take on new programs or seek their own coverage.

Monday, December 23 was the deadline for residents of most states to sign up for Obamacare if they want coverage starting January 1.

Have you applied for insurance under the new program, or tried to? What was your experience?

Share your story, along with a photo of yourself or a video describing your situation. If you experienced a specific technical problem, please upload a screenshot. Some of the most compelling stories will be part of CNN’s coverage.

If recording a video, please keep your message to under 2 minutes.
