Typhoon Haiyan: Your stories

Thousands of people in the central Philippines were evacuated as one of the strongest typhoons in recorded history slammed into the country.

With sustained winds of 305 kph (190 mph) and gusts as strong as 370 kph (230 mph), Typhoon Haiyan, known as Yolanda in the Philippines, was one of the most intense such storms ever recorded. The storm's wind strength was equivalent to an exceptionally strong Category 5 hurricane. The weakened storm made landfall in Vietnam on Sunday.

Are you in the affected area? Or have you had to leave? Do you have loved ones affected by the storm? Send us your photos, videos and stories, but please stay safe such unpredictable conditions.
