Thai military declares coup

After weeks of protests, the Thai military has declared that it’s taken control of the nation’s government in a coup. Martial law was imposed on May 20, and the military chief says it now controls the government. The military has also imposed a curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. local time.

Violent and deadly protests have wracked the country since November. The clashes are rooted in tensions between pro- and anti-government groups over Thailand’s leadership.

Are you in Thailand? Have you witnessed clashes and chaos, or taken part in protests? Tell us what’s happening from your perspective, how you want the situation to be resolved, and share photos and videos if you can do so safely.
