Rare supermoon eclipse

Stargazers across the United States and much of the world are in for a treat.

A supermoon in combination with a lunar eclipse graced the skies Sunday, September 27th through early Monday morning, on September 28.

The supermoon, which comes around once every year, appears slightly bigger before it is engulfed by a total lunar eclipse for more than an hour.

As if that wasn’t already a spectacular sight, this eclipse is the fourth and final in the so called “blood moons,” a phrase that has become popular to describe the 4 consecutive lunar eclipses we have seen in 2014 and 2015.
