Whether it’s a song you have to sing every holiday season, a movie you must watch, or something that just must be done every year or “it’s just not the same”, many people and their families have traditions that are unique to them. (One example of this on a large scale was Dan O’Keefe’s invention of Festivus, a holiday only his family observed, which has since been celebrated worldwide because of its inclusion on the TV show “Seinfeld”).
Where did your tradition start and has it spread to other friends or family members? Have you invented your own holiday, or do you gather around the Festivus pole and celebrate this new holiday yourself?
Share your unusual holiday traditions or customs with the iReport community along with video or photos of your friends and family taking part in the tradition.
