The U.S. Postal Service announced Monday that it is planning to cut Saturday deliveries. They would end starting early next year, pending approval from Congress. USPS says the measure will save billions of dollars each year.
The potential end of Saturday delivery is just the latest in a series of blows to "snail mail" over the past decade or so, with the rise of e-mail, texting, and social networking. Still, receiving a letter in the mail brings a certain thrill that many say e-mail just can't match.
We'd like you to think back and tell us about the most important or memorable letter you ever received. Share a photo or read from it on video, and tell the iReport community why this letter meant so much to you.
