Remembering Jack Kemp

Former congressman and Republican vice presidential candidate Jack Kemp died Saturday at age 73 after a battle with cancer.

Kemp was a professional football player for 13 years before getting into politics. He represented New York in Congress for 18 years and served as Housing Secretary during the first Bush administration. In 1996 he was Republican Bob Dole’s running mate for vice president.
