Authorities have determined that the case of a 6-year-old boy who set a helium balloon adrift last week was a hoax.
The Colorado boy who set the balloon adrift and was allegedly inside it promped ground and air searches and was later found hiding in his family's attic. In an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, the boy said he did it "for a show," leading authorities to determine that the event was a publicity stunt. The boy's parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, had previously been reality TV stars on the show "Wife Swap."
