The focus of Oprah’s 2009 book club, “Say You’re One of Them” by Uwem Akpan, is a collection of short stories, told from a child’s perspective, about life in different African countries. Oprah was so moved by the stories, she remarked how one of them made her relate to a prostitute for the first time in her life. But that’s the point of view from someone living in the U.S. We want to know what you think of the book if you’re living in Africa.

Do the pain and perseverance that unfold in Akpan’s stories portray an accurate picture of your life in Africa? Are they stories that stir up mixed emotions, or ones that make you proud?  We want to know what you think.

Send us video or photos of where you live in Africa, and tell us how Akpan’s stories relate to your home. And don't forget to join Oprah's book club and share your thoughts on the book.
