On December 7, Students' Day in Iran, crowds of demonstrators gathered around Iran in one of the largest turnouts of anti-government protests in recent months.
Majid Tavakoli, a student leader, was arrested for comments he made against the government. Several days later, Iranian official media posted pictures of him in a chadoor, a garment that is common for women in Iran to wear.
In response to the publication of these pictures, men around the world have begun taking pictures of themselves in chadoor and rusari, or headscarves, another kind of covering that is common in Iran.
