Judge strikes down Prop 8

A federal judge has ruled to allow same-sex couples to marry in California starting on August 18, saying that voter-approved Proposition 8 violates the U.S. Constitution.

 

The decision is a big victory for supporters of gay rights in a case that both sides have said is likely to end up in the U.S. Supreme Court. Do you agree or disagree with the judge's decision? How do you think this issue will ultimately play out?
