Spoon Fed - Share your kitchen wisdom

New York Times reporter Kim Severson's memoir, "Spoon Fed: How Eight Cooks Saved My Life" hits bookstores on April 15th. In it, she shares stories of the ways in which eight influential women chefs -- including Rachael Ray, Alice Waters, Ruth Reichl and her own mother -- taught her life lessons she'd never forget.

Now, she'd like to hear what you've learned.

Kim Severson asks:

Think back and tell us about an important life lesson you learned in the kitchen. It could be as simple as learning to share because you were forced to split a piece of cake with your brother, or as important as the last conversation you had with your grandmother.

Tell the iReport community, in a post or on video, the lesson you learned, who taught it to you and what you cook to remind you of the lesson. Send a photo and a recipe, if you can, by 6 p.m. EST on April 14th.

We'll share Kim's favorite responses in an upcoming feature.
