Volcano grounds Europe flights

A huge plume of volcanic ash from Iceland forced the closure of air space over Britain, Ireland and Sweden and disrupted flights across Northern Europe Thursday. Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, and Norway airports are expected to close as the cloud approaches.

The ash came after an eruption under an Icelandic glacier early Wednesday, authorities said, adding that the ash is a threat to aircraft even if it isn’t necessarily visible in the air.

Are you traveling in Europe? How have your plans been affected by the flight cancellations and airport closures? What’s the situation like at airports right now? Send your photos and video and keep us updated on the volcano’s effects.
