Parenting with disabilities

Deaf actress Marlee Matlin is exploring an idea for a unique reality TV show: It’s called “My Deaf Family” and it’s about growing up with deaf parents.

Matlin created a pilot for the series and made it available for free on YouTube. The show depicts the challenges of having parents with disabilities, but not having those disabilities yourself.

In light of this project, we're taking a look at how parents with disabilities manage life's demands. Do one or both of your parents have a disability, or are you a disabled parent yourself?

Grab your camera and give us a window into the challenges and successes you've had. Talk to your family and show us how you deal with day-to-day living, and your story could be incorporated into our coverage.
