Interviewing is the cornerstone of good journalism, and the stories you tell are only as good as the information you get. Knowing what questions to ask and how to conduct yourself in an interview are crucial for getting those juicy tidbits.
In the fifth installment of iReport boot camp, it’s time to test out your new interviewing skills. We’d like you to interview the most interesting person you can think of, whether it’s someone you know or someone you’d like to meet.
Once you find your interview subject, set up your video camera and have a real conversation with them. Try to get the background information and facts off-camera to keep the interview tight. Seek the personal, emotional responses when the camera is rolling.
Send us your video interviews and we will take a look and give you some feedback. We’re excited to see the interviews and learn about all sorts of interesting folks!
*Please keep the interview under 3 minutes.
*Deadline: Tuesday, October 5
