Ever tried to climb Pakistan's K2?

At least 11 climbers were killed in an avalanche on the world's second-largest peak, Pakistan's K2, according to an area mountaineer. K2 ranks just behind Mount Everest in height.

A Web site tracking fatalities on K2 says 66 people have died trying to climb the peak since 1939, and many view the climb as being more technically challenging than Everest.

Have you ever attempted to reach the peak of K2? Are you in the area right now? What other mountains have you tried to climb? Share photos and video of your experiences, as well as any tips you have for those who aspire to climb.
