Cultural census: Read aloud

Make a video or sound recording of yourself reading the following passage out loud:

"When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many beautiful colors. These take the shape of a long round arch, with its path high above, and its two ends apparently beyond the horizon."

This is a standard passage used by speech pathologists and linguists. By having you all read it, we can compare speech patterns and accents from around the country! If you need tips on the best way to record, CNN Radio has a guide to help you out.

When you're done, please take a moment to fill out this quick survey. This will help us classify your iReport and place it on a map. (You only need to fill out the survey once, so if you've already done it as part of another assignment, you do not need to complete it again.)

This is project #2 in iReport's Cultural Census.
