John Edwards admits to extramarital affair

Former senator and Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards admitted to an extramarital affair with 42-year-old Rielle Hunter. The affair began after Hunter was hired to make documentary videos for Edwards' campaign in 2006, according to ABC.

 

Edwards said in a statement that "I made a serious error in judgment and conducted myself in a way that was disloyal to my family and to my core beliefs."
