History in your home: The Civil War

It's been 150 years since the first shots of the Civil War. The April 12, 1861, bombardment of Ft. Sumter triggered the four-year conflict that divided families, killed more than 600,000 Americans and maimed many more. The war is a critical part of U.S. history and relics from that era are treasured by families and collectors.

Do you have old letters, swords or rifles, uniform pieces or other Civil War artifacts? We want to see your collections and hear how they became a part of your history.

Please share your photos and stories by Friday, April 8.
