There may be no greater escape than the Land of the Midnight Sun. From breathtaking vistas to glacial lakes to an abundance of Arctic wildlife, Alaska's got it all for the eager adventurer.
As part of our Destination Adventure series, we're taking a look at all the things you can do in this remarkable state. More than twice the size of Texas, and separated from Russia by just 55 miles along the Bering Strait, visitors can find everything from mild coastal zones to dry interior.
The state is home to the famous Iditarod dogsled race as well as Denali National Park, which has been dubbed the "crown jewel" of America's national park system. The aurora borealis, or northern lights, can be seen from Alaska as well.
Have you experienced the natural wonders of Alaska? Show us your hikes, your snowshoes, the fish you caught, your cold-weather gear and your moose encounters. Whether sailing on the sea or trekking on the tundra, we'd love to see what you've seen.
