Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Walk among great historic landmarks, then gaze up in awe at some of the world's most impressive engineering feats.
Dubai, another location in CNN's Destination Adventure series, is defined by the intersection of the old and the new. Situated along the southern portion of the Persian Gulf, the emirate is a major tourist destination in the middle of the Middle East.
One of the best-known attractions is the Burj Khalifa observation deck perched on the tallest building in the world. Ski Dubai features indoor snow, and there are also several artificial island projects, including the Palm Islands.
Or, to experience history, visitors can seek out Old Dubai. The city has plenty of mosques, cultural landmarks and historic districts to explore.
There are also several amusement and water parks, including a theme park based on Marvel Comics franchises. Visitors can also shop at the world's seventh largest shopping mall, the Dubai Mall, or in the many boutiques and shops. Spectacular restaurants are also a highlight.
Have you been to Dubai? Where did you go, and, for that matter, what did you eat? Share photos and videos from your trip, and be sure to include your tips for making the most of the experience.
