One year ago today, Florida teen Trayvon Martin was shot by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, in an Orlando suburb. The killing sparked an intense debate over whether racism was a motivation in the shooting. Zimmerman has since been charged for second degree murder.
