New citizens: Why did you become American?

This Fourth of July, we’d like to take a look at the U.S. from a unique perspective – that of people who specifically chose to be American.

If you’re a naturalized U.S. citizen, tell us: Why did you become an American? What was it about the United States that made you want to change your nationality? And did it live up to your expectations?

Share photos of your citizenship ceremony if you have them, and tell us why you’re an American by choice. You could be featured in a CNN story.
