Six people were killed and several injured in a shooting rampage during a religious service at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The gunman then shot and killed himself.
The shooting -- -- the latest of many attacks against American Sikhs since 9/11 -- has left the Sikh community and residents of Wisconsin shaken, saddened and confused. Many Sikh community advocates say more awareness is needed about their culture and religion.
CNN iReport asked Sikhs to share their perspectives on the shooting as well as share something they want the world to know about their religion. Sikhs from across America participated in the assignment and those iReports inspired the CNN story: "Sikh iReports speak to long-held fears in their community."
