February 10 marks the Chinese New Year, the most important -- and most celebrated -- of Chinese holidays and this year designated the Year of the Snake.
Participants in China and across the world in expatriate communities clean their homes to remove bad fortune and encourage good luck, buy presents for families and friends and attend lavish events.
The festive period is also marked by millions in China travelling home to visit family, one of the largest movements of people in the world.
Are you celebrating Chinese New Year or have you taken part in celebrations? If so, we’d love to see your images! Send us your best pictures and video and you could be part of CNN’s coverage.
