Assignment: Bitter pill: The cost of health care in the U.S.

Health care costs in the U.S. continue to rise. Americans are expected to spend $2.9 trillion on health care in 2013 alone. We want to know: How much are you really spending to stay well?
Think back to a doctor's visit, hospital stay or procedure you've had in the past year. How much was the pre-insurance bill? Were you surprised by the amount? Grab a piece of paper and write down the procedure and how much it cost (before insurance). Then snap a photo of yourself holding up the paper.
Be sure to tell us in the text of your iReport whether you have health insurance or had to foot the bill yourself, and how you feel about the amount you're spending on health care. The best responses will be featured on CNN.com and Time.com.
